The Veterans Memorial Building
Construction of the Veterans Memorial building began in 1946 by the returning Veterans from WW II. It was built as a memorial to all Veterans- past, present and future.

The building is owned and managed by the Veterans Memorial Association, which is comprised of two elected board members from the American Legion Post #3, and two elected board members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #293. It is located at 1626 Willamette Street in Eugene, OR.

Almost all the monies that we collect in rent, go toward the restoration and upkeep of the building. We have restored the interior and installed an elevator, whereby the Ballroom rental space is now fully handicapped accessible with ease. We have only two paid staff, the rest of us are volunteers. We feel that all Veterans and the community are the true owners of the building, because they or their ancestors paid the price by serving in the military, whether or not they served during wartime.

We provide an affordable space to many civic organizations, such as Rotary and Chamber of Commerce. We also provide an affordable space to some organizations, such as: Military Officers Assn. of America, Women Marines, Rosie the Riveters, The Vet Center, Young Marines, Veterans’ Memorial Services, Girl Scouts of USA and others.
